The search for our next Vicar

The Rev. Michael Barham has left Holy Family to take up a new position at the Church Divinity School of the Pacific, the Episcopal Seminary in Berkley. We have now begun the process to search for a new Vicar to serve Holy Family. The Episcopal Church and our Diocese have a well-defined process. We the Wardens and Bishop Committees of both Holy Family and Good Shepherd (our sister church) will be working with the Canon for Transition Ministries for the Diocese, who helps congregations with this process. Our expectation is that our process at a high level will look like this: We will use supply clergy for the near term. We hope to obtain an interim clergy, when an appropriate person becomes available, to serve our needs while we search for a new vicar and help guide us through the process. We will have a period of reflection where we think about what we need for this next phase of our journey for our two congregations and put together a church information form. This will be followed by a search committee who will look for possible candidates to fulfil those needs and then we will call our next Vicar. Our next Vicar joins us as we continue the next chapter of our spiritual journey. The exact details of the specific process we will follow will be determined in consultation with and at the direction of the Diocese and may evolve over time during the process. Look for frequent communication as we go through this transition. If you are not on the Church mailing list please send a request to info@holyfamilyhmb.org
