Holy Family Episcopal Church founded the Children's Center shortly after moving onto our campus in 1989. The word "mission" has many connotations, and they aren’t all positive. For us, it means serving others and meeting community needs—without strings attached—simply because we believe God calls us to be people of peace and love in the world.
Episcopal Churches often start schools because we value human reason, critical thinking, and intellectual inquiry. We celebrate diversity, embrace science, and respect all paths to wisdom and ethical life. Early childhood education lays the foundation for these essential values while meeting the practical needs of families for child care and social connection. That's what HFCC does in Half Moon Bay.
Our church is proud of HFCC’s long legacy of excellent education and the professional, loving staff who bless the students and families every day. The church strives to support the school in ways that are relevant and meaningful, almost fifty years since we founded the school, to continue our mission of service into the future.
Amber Evans, our vicar, leads a weekly "Wondering Time" on Wednesdays that focuses on a universal spiritual message of love, community, and belonging based on Dr. Lisa Miller's research that spiritual foundations support children's mental health.
