If you've never been to an Episcopal service, you might recognize some elements from other traditions. Our services follow a liturgy, which means a set pattern of worship that includes readings from the Bible, prayers from various Anglican prayerbooks, and song. The heart of our worship is always the Holy Eucharist (Communion), where everyone is invited to share in the bread and wine—because at God's table, all are welcome. Although some Episcopal liturgies can be formal, ours worship is casual, like the culture of Half Moon Bay.
We believe that worship should feed your spirit and feel authentic. Whether you're a lifelong Episcopalian, come from a different faith background, or are just curious about what we do, you don't need to dress up or know the drill. Just come as you are! We strive to make sure every person feels welcome and able to connect to God and the church community.
The word liturgy means "the work of the people," and many volunteers in the church join together to make our services happen, including the altar guild and flower arranger, the readers, the music team, the Eucharistic ministers, and our new ministry of greeters.
